It's all around us, but we barely notice the weather. Apart from the occasions where it makes the news - usually when there's a disaster somewhere in the country. However, as a spin-off from my astronomical interests I started looking at just how good (or not) the weather forecasts we get actually are. How often are they right and how frequently are they wrong? We all have our own personal impressions about weather forecasts, but what are the facts? Maybe this will clear up some misconceptions.
