Marlow

Marlow is a fairly typical small town (pop. about 14000)in Buckinghamshire that dates back several hundred years to a small village on the banks of the River Thames. Although you wouldn't know it from the tourist information, these days it's mainly houses - of which only a tiny number are anywhere near the river. On reflection, this is probably a good thing, considering the possibility of flooding, which seems to be higher now than it has been for some long time.

The town has a long history and is quite proud of it's small suspension bridge across the river. Fortunately for drivers, the town has a by-pass, which makes access much easier.

While there's nothing in the town that would attract outside tourism, once you get here it's pleasant enough for an afternoon out - provided the weather is on your side, as there are not a lot of indoor activities for visitors. As I discovered when some of my family came to visit.

If you're after facts and figures, the best place to start is probably information from the last census.

As far as living here goes, the best description I can come up with is "mostly harmless".
