Astronomy

I picked up astronomy in about 1999, although it's always been something that I've had an interest in. Until then I wasn't in a position to do much about it. I quickly realised that living in a tightly packed, suburban neighbourhood with streetlights every few metres was not the ideal situation. Couple to that the many high trees and neighbouring houses meant that my view of the sky was strictly limited. It's odd, but until you become motivated to look at the night sky you don't really notice how few clear nights we get in England (or how much the view is spoiled by light pollution). That links in nicely with my weather observation page and also tot he dedicated website I've started for my real observing wich is now done in Spain.
